Abstract: Bag filters can be considered the main equipment adopted by industries to control particulate matter emissions. Its advantage over other equipments is related to high collection efficiency. Studies show that the high performance of this equipment depends not only on the filter media adopted but also on the flow behavior. Flow analysis inside bag filters using computational fluid dynamics has appeared in the literature. However, despite the majority one showing the potential of this tool, validation studies of mathematical modeling are still lacking in the scope of these works. Therefore, within this context, the present work aims to present a compilation of works from the open literature that carried out experiments on bag filters, highlighting the trends observed as well as the methodologies adopted for data collection to provide as a reference for researchers looking for ways to obtain experimental data for validation CFD studies in bag filters.
